PROJECT 1

After School

After-School operates within the “Grigore Vieru” secondary school in Purcari commune, Ștefan Vodă district, offering opportunities for formal and non-formal learning, educational support, personal development, and social inclusion for 40–45 school-aged children from at-risk groups.

What do we do?

  • We provide a hot meal daily for 45 children
  • We assist students with homework preparation
  • We ensure psychopedagogical assistance to recover learning gaps
  • We offer psychopedagogical counseling to support emotional development
  • We conduct personal development and self-awareness courses
  • We organize activities to develop digital skills
  • We procure clothing, footwear, and school supplies for beneficiaries
  • We organize recreational and social activities

Thanks to methodological, material, and financial support, children involved in the program gain confidence in their abilities, develop their social and cognitive skills, and learn how to properly plan their future. The project contributes to preventing school dropout and to the meaningful transformation of lives.

PROJECT 2

Material Assistance – Clothing, Footwear, School Supplies

The “Material Assistance” project aims to support children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing essential goods for daily life and access to education. These donations significantly contribute to preventing school dropout, boosting self-esteem, and giving children the opportunity to attend school in decent conditions.

What do we do?

  • We regularly provide school supplies (backpacks, notebooks, writing instruments) to children in risk groups
  • We distribute clothing and footwear for children and adolescents, especially before the cold season
  • We support vulnerable families with food packages, hygiene products, and household items
  • We collaborate with local authorities, churches, and volunteers to identify the real needs within the community
  • Within the community project, 15 families (62 children) received direct support with clothes, footwear, and school supplies
  • We have provided second-hand clothing and footwear in 31 localities across the Republic of Moldova
  • We collect and distribute donations received from individuals, organizations, and local partners

Through this support, children from needy families attend school with dignity, integrate more easily, and are more motivated to learn. A clean shirt, a pair of suitable shoes, or a well-equipped backpack mean more than just help—they represent a real chance for a better future.

PROJECT 3

Help for Disadvantaged Families

The project “Help for Disadvantaged Families” aims to improve living and health conditions for families facing socio-economic risks in the Republic of Moldova. Activities are carried out in the localities of Cantemir, Cahul, Chișinău, Căușeni, and Ștefan Vodă and are especially addressed to large families, single-parent families, those with low incomes, or those in crisis situations.

What do we do?

  • We support 138 children from 34 vulnerable families with material, financial, and psycho-social aid
  • We provide food, clothing, footwear, and hygiene products for all beneficiary families
  • We pay utility bills (electricity, firewood, gas, bottled gas) for families without income
  • We support children’s education by covering high school, college, Art School fees, and educational materials
  • We offer medical assistance: treatments, investigations, medications for serious cases
  • We have implemented the initiative “Washing machine in every family“, to support hygiene and school participation
  • We conduct home visits and parental counseling to develop caregiving and educational skills for children
  • We intervene in that threaten the integrity and future of children

Through this program, school and family abandonment have been prevented, cases of institutionalization avoided, and living conditions improved for hundreds of people. The Foundation remains a reliable support for families wishing to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

PROJECT 4

Support for Children's Centers in Ștefan Vodă

The Life and Light Foundation actively collaborates with children’s centers in Ștefan Vodă district, providing material and emotional support to the most vulnerable children in the region. Our actions aim to assist institutionalized children or those in the care of educational and social centers.

What do we do?

  • We annually give gifts to children, especially during holidays (school supplies, toys, sweets, clothing)
  • We provide material support: clothing, footwear, personal hygiene products, and food parcels
  • We organize recreational and educational activities together with partner centers
  • We support children in school integration and personal development
  • We encourage them to dream and develop in an affectionate, positive environment

Each gift offered is a ray of hope. Through consistent support, we ensure that no child is forgotten, and every smile on their face confirms that kindness changes destinies.

PROJECT 5

Clothing and footwear donations

The Life and Light Foundation constantly carries out humanitarian activities by providing clothing and footwear to vulnerable children and families in the commune of Purcari and other localities in Ștefan Vodă district. This support is especially essential during the winter season, for children coming from families without stable incomes.

What do we do?

  • We donate clothes and footwear to children in the After School program and other educational projects
  • We provide support for large families, single-parent families, or those affected by migration
  • We distribute quality second-hand items received from international partners such as Human Bridge
  • We collect and redistribute clothes and footwear offered by individual donors or local communities
  • We provide school supplies, blankets, and other essential goods for a decent life

For a child who goes to school in winter with torn shoes or without a warm coat, a pair of boots or a warm jacket can mean not only warmth but also dignity. Through these donations, the Foundation offers more than just things — it offers hope.

PROJECT 6

Supported families

The project “Supported Families” aims to assist socially vulnerable families through a comprehensive approach that involves both children and parents. We believe that only together with the family can we have a lasting impact on the child’s education and development. Through this program, we not only seek to meet urgent needs but also actively contribute to changing mentalities and building a more stable future for the entire family.

What do we do?

  • Provide social assistance to families
  • Offer psychological counseling for parents and children
  • Distribute food, clothing, school supplies, footwear, firewood, and financial support for energy bills
  • Improve sanitary and hygienic conditions in homes
  • Provide informational and educational support
  • Offer computers, phones, and internet access for online learning
  • Financially support the purchase of medications and basic medical services

We believe that through consistent support and direct involvement, we can help families regain confidence and build a healthy environment for their children’s development.

PROJECT 7

Purcari Kindergarten and Viisoara Kindergarten

Support for children begins in the early years of life. At the kindergartens in Purcari and Viisoara, we brought a touch of joy to the little ones with age-appropriate gifts — toys, school supplies, and special presents around the winter holidays. Such simple gestures create beautiful memories and contribute to a positive atmosphere in preschool educational institutions.

What do we do?

  • Donate toys and educational materials to kindergartens
  • Provide school supplies for children’s daily activities
  • Prepare Christmas gifts for each child
  • Support the educational process at the preschool level through targeted actions

Small childhood joys can become the foundation of a life filled with confidence and hope.

PROJECT 8

Support for the Orhei Children's Home for Children with Disabilities

The Life and Light Foundation provides humanitarian support for children in orphanages dedicated to people with disabilities, one of which is located in the city of Orhei, where approximately 250 children with special needs are cared for. The intervention is part of the socio-medical program and aims to improve the living and health conditions of these children.

What do we do?

  • We donate clothing, footwear, bed linens, and personal hygiene products
  • We distribute diapers and hygiene products tailored to the needs of children with severe disabilities
  • We provide medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and toilet chairs for mobility and care
  • We offer emotional and humanitarian support through visits, recreational activities, and holiday gifts
  • We collaborate with the institution’s staff to identify critical cases and provide personalized assistance

This project is a ray of light for hundreds of children in extremely vulnerable situations. Through the support provided, we contribute to a more dignified life and offer comfort to souls who, despite difficulties, deserve all the care and love of the world.

PROJECT 9

Humanitarian aid – Partnership with HUMAN BRIDGE

Due to the partnership with the Swedish organization HUMAN BRIDGE, the Life and Light Foundation has managed to provide concrete support to thousands of people in the Republic of Moldova, especially in the Ștefan Vodă region, affected by poverty, disabilities, or limited access to medical and social services.

What do we do?

  • Distribute medical and care equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, medical beds, WC chairs, etc.)
  • Donate clothing, footwear, and hygiene products for vulnerable families
  • Provide diapers for people with disabilities and immobile elderly individuals
  • Supply diagnostic medical devices to hospitals and health centers (e.g., Ștefan Vodă District Hospital – impacting 70,000 patients)
  • Support centers for people with disabilities, orphanages, and social organizations in over 30 localities

The help received through HUMAN BRIDGE is proof that international solidarity can change lives. Through this collaboration, we mobilize vital resources that bring dignity, health, and hope to the most vulnerable among us.

PROJECT 10

Socio-Medical Project – Hygiene and Dignity

The “Hygiene and Dignity” project is part of the socio-medical initiatives of the Foundation and supports extremely vulnerable families living on the brink of subsistence, aiming to improve their living and health conditions. We intervene where the lack of hygiene, food, or access to education creates a vicious circle of poverty and marginalization.

What do we do?

  • We donate washing machines to large families to improve hygiene conditions and school attendance of children
  • We provide material support: clothing, footwear, food, personal and household hygiene products
  • We ensure mental and practical counseling for street children and families in crisis
  • We support the development of household economies: offering goats or other production resources for self-sustainability
  • We promote children’s rights, trying to prevent school and family abandonment
  • We help families avoid institutionalization of children by providing them with real alternatives
  • We engage in for families in danger, including financial and food support

This project brings hope into modest homes where parents work occasionally, children go to bed hungry, and play has been replaced by work. Thanks to the support provided, families gain confidence, feel supported, and can build a path towards independence and dignity.

PROJECT 11

Community Project

The community project aims to strengthen social cohesion and civic participation of the residents of Purcari commune and the surrounding villages through active involvement in community life.

What are we doing?

  • We identify vulnerable families and provide humanitarian aid (food, clothing, hygiene products, school supplies)
  • We organize community meetings and focus groups to train local leaders
  • We form Local Action Groups and develop community action plans
  • We carry out cleanup campaigns, health education, and support for single-parent families
  • We promote citizen participation (including Roma communities) in Local Council meetings

This project contributes to developing a supportive, informed, and engaged community, where every voice is heard and every family has the chance for a better life.

PROJECT 12

School Differently

“Alternative School” is an After School program that supports students in grades I–IX from the commune of Purcari, Ștefan Vodă County, providing them with real opportunities for academic, social, and emotional development. The program is aimed at children from families in difficulty and aims to reduce school dropout and marginalization.

What do we do?

  • We offer daily educational support: guidance for homework, remedial activities, activities for high-achieving students
  • We organize educational and recreational workshops (reading, games, practical activities, art, sports, theater visits, excursions)
  • We provide emotional and psychopedagogical support for children in difficulty
  • We offer advice for school and career orientation, self-awareness, life skills
  • We distribute supplies, alternative books, and social and merit scholarships
  • We provide a hot meal daily, and in some cases, food packages
  • We organize health education activities and prevention of risky behaviors
  • We develop individualized plans for children with learning difficulties
  • We maintain an active collaboration with parents, teachers, social workers, medical staff, and local police

The “Alternative School” program offers children a safe, friendly space where they learn, develop, integrate, and gain confidence in their abilities. For many, it is the only chance to discover their potential, break free from vulnerability, and build a better future.

PROJECT 13

School of Arts

“School of Arts” is a project dedicated to talented children from Purcari commune and Viișoara village, Ștefan Vodă district, who attend the School of Arts classes. The goal is to support the artistic and personal development of students by providing access to cultural education, vocational guidance, and opportunities for self-expression.

What do we do?

  • We financially support over 20 children to pay for their school fees
  • We provide materials and necessary art supplies for art studies
  • We prepare students for participation in local, national, and international competitions and exhibitions
  • We organize creative workshops in design, quilling, and macrame
  • We offer counseling for career guidance in the artistic field
  • We involve students in creative projects carried out within the community

Children learn to express their emotions and thoughts through art, develop their aesthetic sense, self-confidence, and communication skills. The project contributes to the social integration of students by facilitating contact with diverse people and cultural environments. Many of these children discover their vocation through art and are motivated to build their own path in life.

PROJECT 14

Summer School

“Summer School” is an educational and recreational project carried out during the summer vacation period, as part of the Foundation’s personalized initiatives. The project creates a friendly environment where children learn, express themselves freely, and develop skills in a setting that encourages cooperation, solidarity, and creativity.

What do we do?

  • We offer specialized preparation for students who need to recover academic credits, supporting them in overcoming school setbacks
  • We organize preparation courses for capacity exams for middle school students
  • We run English language courses to develop linguistic skills
  • We host summer day camps that combine education with recreation
  • We conduct themed workshops: Traditional Crafts, Village Museum, Artistic Photography, Outdoors Easels
  • We involve children in volunteering activities, encouraging civic spirit and community involvement

Through this program, children regain confidence, develop creativity, and learn in a relaxed and friendly environment. Summer is no longer a lost period for education but a valuable opportunity to move forward with more courage and knowledge.

PROJECT 15

Support for the Society of Invalids in Ștefan Vodă

The Life and Light Foundation provides ongoing support to the members of The Society of the Disabled in Ștefan Vodă District as part of a socio-medical project, aimed at improving their quality of life and restoring their dignity and hope.

What do we do?

  • Distribute clothing, footwear, and hygiene products tailored to the needs of people with disabilities
  • Provide medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, walking frames, and toilet chairs
  • Donate adult diapers for immobile individuals or those with severe disabilities
  • Facilitate access to counseling and information regarding social and medical rights
  • Promote social integration through support activities, visits, and direct collaborations with the local community

Through active partnership with the Society of the Disabled, we manage to reach the hearts of marginalized people, offering them not only material things but also the confidence that they are not alone and that their lives matter.

PROJECT 16

Children's Camps

Organized by the Life and Light Foundation, the camps provide a unique opportunity for children from vulnerable backgrounds to develop in a positive environment, to forge friendships, and to discover their potential. The activities are especially aimed at students who demonstrate academic progress or who need encouragement to continue on their educational path.

What do we do?

  • We organize educational and recreational camps for children from rural areas
  • We motivate children with good academic results through unforgettable experiences
  • We create safe environments for developing social and emotional skills
  • We support inclusion and team spirit through games, workshops, and hikes
  • We encourage children to participate in creative, sports, and spiritual activities

For many of these children, a camp is more than just a vacation — it is their first escape from a tough daily routine, a chance to dream and feel valuable. Here, smiles are born, friendships are formed, and dreams continue to grow.

PROJECT 17

Socio-Medical Project

The project aims to address some existing gaps in medical equipment, hygiene materials donated by the Swedish organization Human Bridge. The direct beneficiaries are: medical staff, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable population groups.

What are we doing?

  • We provide humanitarian aid, including: wound dressing materials, surgical instruments, disinfectants, diapers, bedding, pillows, blankets, medical equipment (multifunctional beds, devices), orthopedic and home care devices (wheelchairs, crutches, walking supports, toilet chairs), instruments such as blood pressure monitors, stethoscopes, diagnostic tools for laboratories.
  • We initiate counseling to protect the health of elderly people, individuals with disabilities, and socially vulnerable families.
PROJECT 18

Informatics Club

The Computer Science Club at IPLT „Ștefan Vodă” was created with the aim of supplementing and expanding computer science knowledge learned at school, engaging in unique experiments, projects, as well as preparing for competitions.

What do we do?

  • Graphic Design Courses: posters, billboards, business accessories, packaging, textile application design, font creation, printing preparation, corporate identity design, book and brochure layout, graphic equipment for books.
  • Introduction to Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Canva courses
  • Workshops on using Scratch, LightBot, mBlock, MicroBit applications

Scoala de arte

În cadrul proiectului beneficiază de susținere mai mult de 20 de copii care frecventează Școala de Arte din comuna Purcari și satul Viișoara, raionul Ștefan Vodă

Ce facem:

  • Susținem financiar elevii ca să plătească taxele școlare
  • Oferim materiale, instrumente plastice
  • Pregătim copii pentru concursuri, expoziții la nivel local, național, internațional
  • Organizăm ateliere de creație din domeniul designului, quilling, macrameu.
  • Consiliem copiii pentru orientarea profesională.
  • Participăm la proiecte de creație derulate în comunitate

Crește posibilitatea elevilor de a relaționa cu persoane și personalități diferite, cu colegi din diverse medii, putând astfel să se adapteze mai ușor la realitatea de dincolo de școală, să se integreze în viitor în viața socială. Nu se exclude faptul că școala cu profil creativ va determina calea copilului în viață, îi va ajuta in decizia traseului profesional

Scoala de vara

Şcoala de Vară” este un proiect care se înscrie în aria proiectelor personalizate ca ale Fundației. Experienţele de grup încheagă prietenii, dărâmă barierele prejudecăţilor, dau naştere la solidarităţi şi adaptări la situaţii sociale în miniatură.

PROJECT 19

Community support during the pandemic period

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Life and Light Foundation supported the Purcari community by providing concrete assistance to families in isolation, the elderly, and children in need. Activities were carried out in collaboration with the local police officer and authorities.

What do we do?

  • Distribute food packages to families in need affected by restrictions and income loss
  • Provide essential medicines and hygiene products for vulnerable individuals
  • Offer logistical and emotional support to isolated or ill persons
  • Collaborate with the sector police officer in Purcari to identify and assist the most affected
  • Inform and advise the community about prevention and protection measures

Through this joint effort, the Foundation demonstrated that solidarity does not stop even in the most difficult times. Faced with an unprecedented crisis, we stayed united and brought hope where it was most needed.

PROJECT 20

Support for vulnerable families – construction materials and firewood for winter

Purcari and Viisoara, Ștefan Vodă district, 2018

As part of the activities carried out in 2018, the “Life and Light” Foundation supported families in difficult situations from the villages of Purcari and Viisoara, providing them with basic comfort and safety during the cold season. The interventions included material support for the construction or renovation of homes and supplying firewood, helping families get through the winter in better conditions.

What do we do?

  • We identified socially vulnerable families within an active community plan
  • We provided firewood for 15 families (with 62 children)
  • We distributed packages with clothing, food, school supplies, and hygiene products
  • We supported repairs and improvements to homes (furniture, stoves, construction materials)
  • We involved the community and local leaders in cleanup activities and practical education for women in households
  • We organized home visits and encouraged civic participation in Local Council meetings

Through this project, we not only improved living conditions but also strengthened community solidarity, encouraging active and responsible citizen participation.

PROJECT 21

Gifts for middle school students – 2018

Grigore Vieru High School, Purcari Commune

During the winter holidays, we brought joy to the hearts of the children at Grigore Vieru High School in Purcari commune. Through this simple but meaningful gesture, we wanted to send a message to the students that they are not alone and that every child deserves to feel the spirit of Christmas.

What are we doing?

  • We offer personalized gifts to children in middle school classes
  • We give hygiene products, sweets, stationery items, and symbolic toys
  • We organize special moments for gift distribution in a festive setting
  • We encourage solidarity and the joy of giving within school communities

Through these activities, we aim to provide children not only with material things but also with confidence, support, and beautiful memories that will stay in their hearts.
